'Painting Dynamic Compositions'
This will be the most important class that you will ever take! Brilliant color, strong contrast, or skilled brushstrokes will never save a painting with poor design and composition. Learn several simple and successful ways to understand and accomplish painting a winning composition. Learn how to translate the photo so that the proportion, shapes, volume, balance, rhythm, directional patterns, focal point, and unity will create success before your brush even touches the paper!

' Fascinating New Brushstrokes'
Expand your brushstroke use while you practice these new techniques using the... side, tip, belly, end and edge of the brush. You don't need a handful of brushes, rather you need to learn how to get the most out of each brush. I will demonstrate multiple ways to use the flat, round and rigger brushes. See the many ways of handling the brush to create various objects as these new techniques will give you symbolism, diversity, impressions and suggestions of the item so that you can create "simply elegant" works of art!

'The Best Advice to Making Great Art!
The most important [ technique ] lesson that you will ever learn is how to have an 'art word' in mind while painting. Discovering   how important it is that what you 'think about' while you paint is the secret to success. Tom will teach you how to SEE, THINK and PAINT like an artist. Creating a Loose & Abstract Floral'

You don't have to be a floral painter to take this class.   The lessons of 'painting loose' ~'color' ~' edges'  and 'focal point' will be the underlying secret to your paintings success!  You will learn the important 'first wash' that will set the stage for the many examples Tom will paint.

'Painting Interior Scenes'

Sitting right in front of you is a subject that you might not have ever thought would be a candidate for a work of art.

Tom will showcase how a single source of light can create a whole new look to ordinary things.

Watch as he paints and reveals all of his secrets for painting interior scenes, still lifes and much more.

'Painting the Urban Landscape'

Born and educated (American Academy of Art), in Chicago, gives Tom a unique perspective on painting cities ; buildings  and the urban landscape.

If you have difficulty in painting architectural subjects, this class is definitely for you. Tom will demonstrate and explain in great detail all you need to know from the sidewalks, windows, doors, to the rooftop and so more!

Learn to plan the 'sky design' to unify your paintings with the architectural subject. This class offers an enormous amount of information from an artist who won 'Chicago Landscape Artist of the Year' and 'Best Architectural', (Easton, MD - Plein Air)

3-Day Watercolor Workshop (6 hrs. daily)

'DRAMATIC SHADOWS'

As a follow-up to the ZOOM 1 Workshop, each of the 3-day ZOOM 2 Workshops will consist of advanced lessons on a single topic not covered in ZOOM 1

There will be several different ZOOM 2 Workshops each one covering   
in-depth, different topics designed to improve your finished paintings utilizing the featured topic. The focus for this  session is   
'DRAMATIC SHADOW PATTERNS'.  Each demo will showcase a different way to paint Dramatic Shadows. As a bonus there will be added ZOOM sessions both before and a week later.  
The demos will be able to be viewed again and again.
